Paros and Santorini both sit on well-served Cycladic ferry routes, with crossing times that vary a lot by ferry type — from a couple of hours on the fastest catamarans to considerably longer on conventional ferries, depending on the exact route and season.
That makes a short Santorini stop realistic even if it isn't your main base — a common pattern is to treat Santorini as a 2–3 night highlight and spend the rest of the trip somewhere calmer and better value.

Santorini's caldera-view hotels are some of the most expensive stays in Greece. Paros offers a far larger range of good mid-range hotels, which is often a bigger lever on your total cost than the flight or ferry.
Paros has more, and more varied, beach time — including spots suited to windsurfing and kitesurfing. Santorini's beaches are volcanic sand and are generally secondary to its scenery.
With five nights or less, splitting between two islands can eat into your time more than it adds. Consider whether a focused Santorini stay, or a Paros base with a Santorini day trip, fits better than a full split.
